The Final Show

12/3/2020

And we are in the final weeks of the fall show, "Hiraeth", featuring A S Helwig's beautiful moments of Alberta grandeur on canvas!  Once this show is finished, it will also be the last show Palliser Art And Framing will host.
The gallery is closing at the end of this year, following five and a half years of showcasing local calgary and area artists! Thanks to everyone who supported the artists and attended the galas, and entrusted the workshop in framing your treasured artwork and memories! Be aware the workshop is working at full capacity and I will not be accepting any additional projects. If you are looking for referrals or recommendations, please call and I can try and help you find an alternative shop! Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, Happy Hanukkah!

The Fall Show is up!

10/7/2020

The fall season is in full colour, and we are full of it here at the gallery...colour, that is.
And to wrap up this year, we are happy to showcase Calgary artist, A. S. Helwig for October through December.
The series is titled "Hiraeth", and is featuring some stunning broad vistas of our wide open prairies, foothills and skies! Please do drop by and see what's up on the walls, and be sure to visit Alice's website to get a glimpse into her education, inspiration and motivation as well as a greater appreciation of her portfolio.
Wear your mask, wash your hands, be kind and patient!
And if you've read this far, we must regretfully announce the gallery will be closing at the end of this year, thanks to all of you who patronized the shop and enjoyed the gallery and the galas in the past five years!

Summer Heat Wave!

8/19/2020

And we are  about halfway through Rita's Show, "Summer's Pastels" Please do drop in and have a look when you're out and about the town! There are some interesting outdoor art presentations going on around the province, but here in the gallery we have air conditioning! Enjoy the warm temperatures, go sailing, eat ice cream!

Summer Show...

7/6/2020

The summer season is upon us, albeit in a socially distanced format...nevertheless, the show must go on! Excitement is in the air...and pollen...hail...mosquitos...and tiny nasty virus bits!  Facemasks are now haute couture, non-cohort hugs are virtual!
We are featuring Rita Rankin's beautiful pastel artwork for the summer season, from July through September. Her work features softly composed landscapes of mountains, forests, lakes and ponds and other recognizable features from the foothills to the Columbia Valley. Do drop by her facebook page to see some of her work!
The gallery is open with lots of new artwork gracing our walls!

Spring Show Update

5/22/2020

And here we are, the pandemic has changed the world in so many ways, the 'new normal' is the catchphrase uttered everywhere, as we navigate the unchartered waters of business interaction with clients under social distancing mandates! The gallery is open, the art is beautiful, the smell of spring melds with the nuances of bleach....so come on out and see Kimberley Cooks Spring Show, "Portraits of Spring", showcasing until the end of June!

Springing into Art?

4/1/2020

And then we stop in our tracks...as we are faced with the nasty business of coronavirus gripping the world...
With this unprecedented change of the world order, we will attempt to provide some distraction to the chaos if that's at all possible.
Presenting "Portraits of Spring", a collection of Kimberley Cook's artwork, to be showcased for April, May and June. Hopefully we'll be able to open the doors of the gallery again sometime in the next few months and even get a chance to host a reception, might be an artist's 'closing' reception, but that will be our mission!
In the meantime, please visit Kimberley's website to see the stunning artwork and see what you're missing!
We may be able to accommodate, on a very limited basis, private viewings with appointments made through the gallery, until there are changes made to the current business closures. Call or email the gallery for information.

Happy New Year!

1/3/2020

Welcome to the new decade! And we will kick things off with a photography exposition in conjunction with Exposure, Alberta's Photography Festival.
We welcome Martin Spriggs and Travelbag Photography to the gallery, with a show entitled Triple A Destinations: Asia, Africa and Alaska. Martin is pleased to have this opportunity between ongoing travels to present this show and sale.
We have several of his photos available in incredible metal finishes which capture the stunning colours and detail in these exotic prints!
